Vehicle Servicing

Understanding Vehicle Servicing

A vehicle service is a thorough inspection to ensure that your car remains in optimal condition. While “servicing” can be used interchangeably with specific tasks such as brake repairs or tune-ups, it encompasses much more to ensure the overall health of your vehicle.

Each vehicle has its own unique service schedule, defined by factors such as mileage, age, and the manufacturer’s recommendations. These schedules outline the maintenance tasks required at different intervals to keep your car running smoothly and safely.

At Eastern Bays Automotive, we understand that service costs can vary depending on your vehicle’s make and model. Different vehicles require different components such as air filters, spark plugs, or engine oil, and our team will provide clear, upfront advice on the cost and available options for your service before any work is carried out.

Unlike some workshops that offer generic, “one-size-fits-all” services, we prioritize transparency and deliver tailored service packages. We offer two standard service options for vehicles outside of manufacturer schedules: Lube Service and Full Service.

Our aim is to ensure your vehicle receives the right service at a fair price.

Lube Service

Our Lube Service provides essential maintenance to keep your vehicle running smoothly. During this service, we perform a comprehensive check and replacement of key components, including:

Engine Oil Change: We drain and replace the engine oil with premium ELF oil to maintain optimal engine performance.

Oil Filter Replacement: Ensures clean, effective oil circulation.

Underbody Inspection: A thorough check for exhaust leaks, suspension wear, fluid leaks, tyre condition, and more.

Fluid Check & Top-Up: Inspection and topping up of all vital fluids, including engine oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and battery levels.

Air Filter Inspection: Ensures proper engine airflow by checking and replacing the air filter if necessary.

Windscreen Washer Fluid: Topping up with concentrated fluid for clear visibility.

Lubrication: Greasing suspension points, drive shafts, and door hinges.

Tyre Inflation: Ensures tyres are inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended pressure for optimal handling and longevity.

The Lube Service is an efficient way to maintain your vehicle’s health and extend its lifespan.

Full Service

Our Full Service goes above and beyond, providing an in-depth inspection and replacement of critical vehicle components. During a Full Service, we cover the following:

Engine Oil & Filter: Drain and replace with premium ELF oil and install a new oil filter.

Underbody Inspection: Check for exhaust leaks, suspension wear, fluid leaks, and assess the condition of the tyres and steering components.

Fluid Checks & Top-Ups: We check and top-up transmission, brake, power steering fluids, coolant, and windscreen washer fluid.

Air Filter & Greasing: Inspect and replace the air filter as needed; lubricate suspension and drive shaft grease points.

Brakes & Tyres: Inspect, clean, and adjust brakes (pads, hoses, discs); rotate tyres and ensure proper inflation.

Ignition System & Carburetor (if applicable): Check spark plugs, ignition timing, and carburetors.

Engine Maintenance: Check valve clearances and clean the throttle body, airflow meter, and PCV valve.

Diagnostic Scan: Use advanced diagnostic tools to check all electronic modules for faults.

Auxiliary Belts & Cooling System: Inspect and adjust all auxiliary belts; check cooling system for leaks and antifreeze levels.

Wipers & Lights: Ensure wipers and lights are working correctly.

Service Reset & Road Test: Reset service indicators (if applicable) and conduct a road test.
